With over 20 years of experience in contract compliance, Jolene Cochran is an experienced leader dedicated to equity opportunities for small businesses for the City of Austin. Currently, she serves as the SMBR Program Manager for the Small & Minority Business Resources Department. In this role, she is responsible for the administration of the US DOT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Procurement Programs for federally assisted contracts; in addition to managing contract compliance for City’s local MBE/WBE Procurement Program. In partnership with the Economic Development Department, she is responsible for ensuring small business opportunities and monitoring compliance for public-private partnership agreements. Jolene has 14 years of prior experience in the private sector, serving as Business Development & Marketing Event Coordinator and New Business Supervisor. She has had successful achievements in government procurements, program management, marketing, and business administration. She is an alumna of Leadership Austin, a certified Master Contract Administrator, and Certified Texas Contract Manager for the State of Texas. She has proudly served as board of directors for various City of Austin employee and community advocacy groups.
